| This porcelain plate was produced in Hungary by Herend in the 1930s. The diameter of the plate is 7 3/8 inches. A lithophane is a picture within a porcelain object which when held up to the light may be seen. The decoration is achieved solely by thinning or thickening the porcelain. This plate contains a view of a quaint Hungarian village street. It is amazing how the details of the buildings come to life when you hold the plate up to the light. The plate is pierced for hanging in front of a window. It comes with its original silk-lined box. This plate would be a conversation piece for years to come. It is in excellent condition. | ||
