This porcelain animal group was produced in Germany by Meissen in 1865. It is 4 1/4 inches long, 4 inches wide and 4 inches high. This piece is an animal lover's delight. There is a striped cat sitting on a tree stump watching birds feeding from a dish below with a perky looking dog next to the dish. They all seem to be content sitting close to each other without a problem. It is a scene of contentment. The artisans at the Meissen factory skillfully modeled and hand painted this group. There appears to have been a bit of restoration to the dish and the birds. Other than that, it is in fine condition. It is a rare and unusual group.
