| This porcelain oyster plate was produced in France by Charles Ahrenfeldt Limoges in the late 19th century. It has a diameter of 8 3/4 inches. The plate has five wells for oysters or clams and a small center well for salt. There is factory transfer decoration of sea creatures and seaweed in colorful array. Gilding outlines each segment of the plate and there is rich gilding on the rim. There is slight wear to the rim, but probably 99% of the gilding is intact. This plate is in excellent condition. | ||
