This set of 12 porcelain dinner plates was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg before 1920. They have an impressed shield mark as well as a printed mark. The diameter of these plates is 9 5/8 inches. These plates were decorated at the factory and are first quality. They are extremely translucent and lightweight. There is a molded basket weave decoration around the border and they have a slightly scalloped shape. Each plate is individually hand painted with vivid floral sprays in the style of Meissen and Dresden china. All of the flowers are different. The bright colors and basket weave border give them a country feeling. They are in excellent condition except for a minute flake on the rim of one plate which can hardly be felt. There is no wear, fading, scratches, cuts or signs of use.
