| This cup and saucer was produced in Austria by an unknown manufacturer in the late 19th century. It has hand painted numbers and letters on the bottom of the cup which are unidentifiable. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 1/2 inches high. It may be used for tea or coffee. The workmanship is very similar to that of KPM, Royal Berlin or perhaps Nymphenburg. It is made in the highest art nouveau style, using raised, translucent enamels. There is a hint of Japanese influence in the decoration of butterflies and grapes. The handle has a nouveau shape. There is slight wear to the gold band encircling the well of the saucer, but it is in otherwise excellent condition. | ||
