This porcelain dish was produced in France by Pouyat Limoges in the late 19th century. It measures 11 1/2 inches across the handles and has a depth of 1 1/4 inches. The porcelain blank was sold white ware to a professional decorator. There is the under-glaze green mark of the Pouyat factory and an over the glaze printed mark of the decorator. It is also artist signed on the front of the dish. The porcelain has a molded, flowing art nouveau rim and handles. The background color of the dish is pale blue. There are wild roses and foliage expertly hand painted in the center of the dish. The handles and rim are hand painted with heavy gold. This dish is tastefully done and would be a wonderful piece for use or display. It is in excellent condition.
