| This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. The diameter of the plate is 8 inches. The porcelain is of excellent quality hard paste. The blank has molded high relief decoration and is reticulated in a basket weave type pattern. Cartouches are molded into the border, filled with sprigs of flowers. In the center of the plate are larger flowers. The expert hand painting of Meissen is world renowned. A thin cobalt border runs along the rim. All of this is accented and trimmed with hand gilding. This is a charming example of the master craftsmanship Meissen has produced for nearly three hundred years. This is a first quality plate in excellent condition. | ||
