| This porcelain ink blotter was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It is 4 1/2 inches long and 2 1/2 inches high. This is an antiquated object not often found today. When people used to sign their name with a fountain pen, they would blot the wet ink to that it wouldn't smear. This particular piece was decorated at Meissen in the Kakiemon style with yellow tigers and stylized flowers and trees. There is brown enamel paint trimming the edges. Three spots in the brown enamel have tiny nicks. It is a most unusual piece, first quality and in good condition. | ||
