| This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in England by Minton before 1870. There is no manufacturer's mark, only hand painted letters and number. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and the cup is 2 1/2 inches high. We have never seen such incredible egg shell bone china before. You can virtually see through it. The decoration is exquisite in the French Sevres style. There are lovely pink borders surrounding white areas. Circling the cup and saucer are thick turquoise enamel medallions with roses in the center. These medallions have swags of hand painted lavender leaves and garlands of forget-me-nots framing them. Raised gold beading accents the borders of both pieces. There is gold trim on the handle and rims of both pieces. This is a magnificent cup and saucer of rare quality. It is in excellent condition. | ||
