Divine Antique Copeland Tea Cup & Saucer

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Copeland before 1900. It was specially made for the retailer, Davis & Collimore, of New York. The saucer measures 6 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is made of fine, white bone china. The shape of the cup is copied from 18th century tea cups. The hand painting on this set is exquisite. There are garlands of pink roses inside the cup and around the saucer. There is ornate gilding incorporated into the decoration, giving the set the most eye-catching appeal. The handle is trimmed with gold and there is dentil gold trim around the rims of the set. The gilded medallion in the well of the saucer has just a faint bit of fading caused by the cup sitting on it. This divine tea cup and saucer is in excellent condition.
