8 CAC American Belleek Sherbets with Trays
This set of 8 porcelain sherbets was produced in the U.S. by Ceramic Arts Company between 1889 and 1896. Ceramic Arts Company later became Lenox. The trays measure 6 1/4 inches square, the sherbet cups are 3 1/4 inches high and 6 inches across the handles. The porcelain has molded decoration and the handles on the cups are split like twigs. These were decorated in the factory by hand, using two colored raised gold. There is a letter "B" in the decoration. Condition: The crimped edges on these pieces in fragile and prone to chips. There are tiny nicks on most of the trays. The sherbets are nearly perfect. There is also some minor wear to the gilding on the edges. This is a rare set to find since the company was in production for only twenty years.
