| This porcelain plate was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby in 1913. There is a date cipher that indicates this year. It was made as a special order for the high end retailer, Gillman and Collimore in New York. The plate is luncheon size, measuring 9 inches in diameter. It is made of the finest white bone china. The plate is decorated with the most elaborate encrusted gilding. It has baskets of flowers, fruits, swags, and festoons. Nothing was spared in making this gilding the finest and most exquisite. It is impossible to think what it might cost to produce such a plate, if possible, today. Condition: There is wear to some raised fruits where a plate was resting on top. This plate is magnificent and worth serious consideration. | ||
