Exquisite Antique Minton Cup & Saucer, Exotic Birds
This porcelain coffee cup and saucer was produced in England by Minton in 1855. The saucer bears an impressed date registry which indicates this year. The cup has the pattern number A3765 painted in red on the cup. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 3/4 inches high. The fine white bone china has molded panels and decorations in the porcelain. Gilded panels with hand painted roses alternate with white panels containing colorful birds on branches. A ring of leaves in high relief encircle the well of the saucer and the bottom of the cup. There is dentil gilding on the rims of each piece and accents on the handle. This cup and saucer represents some of the finest workmanship Minton ever produced. Condition: Excellent
