| American Impressionist George Loftus Noyes 1864 - 1954, Haystacks, watercolor on board, 9 7/8" by 14 " sight, unsigned, attribution based on technique and strong compositional relationship to at least one other known signed oil, 17 1/8" by 21 1/8" housed in contemporary frame under glass with linen mat, 1/16" dent to left upper corner or board, otherwise excellent condition. Artist traveled to Paris 1890 and enrolled in ateliers of Gustave Courtois, Joseph Paul Blanc, and Paul-Louis Delance. Returned to Boston 1892. Member of Boston Art Club and St. Boltolph Club. Exhibited Art Institute of Chicago, Boston Art Club, Copley Society, Corcoran Gallery Biennial, National Academy of Design, Panama Pacific Exhibition of 1915, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, St. Boltolph Club, and Vose Galleries. | ||
