American Impressionist John A. Cook 1870 - 1936, Gloucester Harbor, watercolor on paper, 10 7/8" by 7 1/2" sight, signed lower right, 17 3/8" by 13 3/4" housed under glass in carved gilded frame, no apparent restorations. Artist studied with Joseph DeCamp, E.L. Major, Douglas Volk. Member of Baltimore Watercolor Club, Rockport Art Association, Gloucester Society of Artists, North Shore Art Association, Boston Art Club, New Haven Paint and Clay Club, American Federation of Arts. Also exhibited Society of Independent Artists.
