Coromandel Lacquer Art
Our Lacquer Art pieces are one-of-a-kind, hand painted works of art using the ancient Chinese art form called Coromandel. This 2,300 year-old process begins with a hand-crafted wood base. Clay is then applied to the outer surface which allows the artist to then work his magic. Each piece is uniquely carved and embossed to create the desired pattern. Some of our paintings are then covered with 18-K or 24-K gold and sterling silver leaf. Our talented artists then paint their rendition of the finished product. Artists such as Klimt, Van Gogh, Matisse and Kandinsky are represented in our work.
