Sculpture Polynesian Dancer Goddess in Wood
Sculpture of a Polynesian Dancer or possibly of Javanese or Balinese origins. Not sure of the wood, teak or ebony, if is very dark and heavy. It measures 27 1/2" high and 7 1/2" at its widest. It is very expressive and beautifully executed. Please call or email if you have questions or if you can give me more information on its origins. (I have the following information from a collector of tribal art, "I can assure you that this figure is not Polynesian. It is, in my view, a copy or replica of a Balinese carving, probably executed in teak with a dark stain, which suggests Thailand as the source"). I very much appreciate his input.
