With a hefty weight of silver and a beautiful rectangular blue-green turquoise stone, this pin was made by a Navajo artist to be worn on a fancy velvet shirt. At some point it went to the trading post to be pawned, and it still bears an old pawn ticket from the Russell Foutz Indian Room in Farmington, New Mexico. The pin is 2-3/4 inches wide and about 1-1/2 inches high. The original pin has been replaced by a sturdy silver wire, and the clasp still works. It is unsigned and still includes an inv ...click for details

This fine old pin is 3-5/8” wide, set with beautiful hand-shaped natural stones and hand-cut bezels, with silver drops, on a silver base. This was someone’s “favorite” as you can see in the patina of the silver and the greening of the stones. The pin has been replaced with a hand-made and functional wire. The back is inscribed with the initials “BLJ” but we are not sure if this is the maker or the owner’s mark.
