Very fine Japanese Ko-Hirado(antique hirado)porcelain incense burner is in the shape of foo dog or lion.
It is gorgeous and superb.

This incense burner is separated into four parts.
The four foots are shaped Foo dog which different face from body design.
The design drawn in the cylinder can be appreciated from the hole worked into the biggest body parts.
The incense is put in this cylinder.

Japanese Imari blue and white porcelain charger("sometsuke ozara")is decorated all over with circled flower and arabesque pattern("hana karakusa")in hand painted on a white ground.

Fine incense burner with Korai style(utsushi) by Makuzu Kozan 2nd(1859-1917).
An utsushi is learned from a past master but is not a simple imitation.
It is expected to not only copy the exterior, but to embrace the spirit of the master's work and yet add the unique interpretation and flavor of its creator.

This beautiful small Buddha(Syakamuni)seated is made from white porcelain by Suwa Sozan the First(1852-1922).

Suwa Sozan came from a military family.
