Japanese cloisonne small box decorated with design of Japanese apricot "Ume" and Japanese bush warbier "Uguisu". The design of "Ume And Uguisu" is very popular and auspicious pattern in Japan. It has fine beauty cloisonne work with wires on the navy-blue color ground. This color is typical color of Owari cloisonne. The bottom has a family crest of flower of paulownia, called "Gosan no kiri" on the beautiful turquoise blue color ground. This family crest "Gosan no kiri" is used for Imperial family or a coat of arms of Japan also. It is a noble design and this cloisonne box is a high quality piece. The interior has metal(gold color)ground. Dating from Meiji period, latter 19th century. Measurements About: 9cm Width, 7.5cm Length, 5cm Height, 2.5cm Depth, 500g Weight. It is in very good condition. Some slightly spots by age on the ground. |
