Very fine Tanzaku box and Fubako done by beautiful lacquered. Dating from Meiji(1868-1912). The surface of both box decorated in gold, shibuichi-silver and blue color Takamakie(rise makie)on the beautiful lacquer ground with Bamboo glove, stream, small chrysanthemum and clouds. Inside of the both lid decorated in Takamakie work on the gold makie"Nashiji"ground with Japanese garden scenery, small chrysanthemums, bushclovers, bellflowers and grass. A bellflower part of both boxes is done in Raden(mother's pearl inlaid)work. It is one of master works from Meiji period. Signed artist name "Zohiko"(Heian Zohiko). The condition of Tanzaku Box and Fubako are excellent, no crack and no hairline. Measurements about : Tanzaku Box 9.6cm(3.8")Width, 39.7cm(15.6")Length, 4cm(1.6")Tall.
