Antique Japanese hibachi(brazier)woven of split smoked bamboo by Maeda Chikubosai first(1872-1950). Dating from Taisyo 11.(inscribed on the backside of the lid of Tomobako.) He is the Japanese famous bamboo artist who played an active part from Meiji to Showa. The bamboo hibachi decorated in beautiful split of smoked bamboo with a bronze inner bowl. Seen from a distance,a split of deep smoked bamboo appears to be a v-shaped pattern. Signed with an inscribed signature by the artist, Chikubosai Zo Kore (Chikubosai made it), on the base. Would make a fantastic flower vase for a table ikebana flower arrangement. The condition is excellent with fine patina. No scratch and no repaired. It comes with original signed wooden kiri-box,Tomobako. Now, we have two same hibachis. Both of the articles of a condition are excellent. Both can be sold. Measurements about: 33cm(13")Diameter, 24.5cm(9.6")Tall, 20cm(7.8")Mouth-diameter. |
