This piece is one of the most excellent Wajima lacquered ware in Japan ware.
The wooden lacquered stacked boxes is decorated in skillful lacquer work, raden work(mother-of-pearl inlay) and gold makie with Japabese landscape, "Sansui-ga".
A stacked boxes is five pieces at all. The lid is attached two pieces.
The design of landscape are Mountain, sea, sailboat and pine tree. There are depicted so beautiful.
The interior has nice Nashiji lacquer work.
This item is real Wajima, and best quality pieces.
The condition is in excellent, as like new.
The artist name "Kado" are signed and stamped on the back of the lid of the Tomobako and back of a box.
This article is an article of the finest quality without an equal also in the handicraft of existing Wajima-nuri.
His teacher's name is called "Kumano Ippo".
Kado passed away about 18 years ago.
Most works which in signed "Kado" are collaboration with "Kumano Ippo" which is his teacher.
He is a famous artist of the Wajima-nuri for manufacturing only the work of the cultural-assets class.
It comes with wonderful makie stand for the stacked boxes and original signed wooden kiri-box "Tomobako".
