Futaoki - A stand, made of ceramic, bamboo or metal, on which the lid of a tea ceremony kettle is placed.
When the cover is placed on the kettle, the stand supports the dipper end of the ladle "hishaku".
The type of this Futaoki is a one of the spacial seven type Futaoki "Nanasyu Futaoki" which are selected by Sen-no-Rikyu.
Date: Edo era, 19th century.
Mitsu-Ningyou is the thing of the form where three persons' Chinese children joined hands outward, and became a ring.
In China, it was able to liken the lid rest that it is one of the stationery in bookshelf and Sumi table.
The condition of this Futaoki is in excellent.
It has fine patina.
It comes with original wooden kiri-box,Tomobako.
Measurements about: 6cm(2.36")Diameter, 5cm(1.96")Tall.
