Date: Meiji Period, 19th century. The lacquered small box with makie work which that Marie Antoinette loved. It is decorated in "Taka-makie"(raised makie)work with a "Tori-kabuto"(a pattern of a gorgeous dress worn on the head by a bugaku dancer), cherry blossoms and a mandarin orange, tachibana. The condition of this lacquer box is in excellent. No chip and no crack. It comes with original wooden kiri-box,Tomobako. Measurements about: 6.2cm(2.44") X 9.2cm(3.62") X 2.6cm(1.02")Tall. |
