This Koro(incense burner)is just for decoration.
It is made by Japanese wood and lacquer.
However, if it includes metal holder corresponding to the form of this incense burner in a main part, it can actually be used as an incense burner.
It is an incense burner of very brilliant workmanship.
The Shibayama lacquer work and raised gold lacquer makie work of very high technology are ornamented by the whole incense burner.
You will raise the voice of admiration involuntarily, just as it takes out from a wooden kiri-box.
Gorgeous flower basket ornamented by mother-of-pearl inlay work.
Beautiful original scenery of Japan is ornamented by the technique of raised gold lacquer makie work.
Inside has skillful nashiji gold makie work finish.
There are two very minor repaired part.
One is a raised makie part, another is a adhesion part on the foot.
However, it is the repair which is not conspicuous, so that it does not understand, unless it often sees.
It comes with fitted wooden kiri-box.
Overall condition is in excellent.
Date : Meiji period(1868-1912).
