Date : From Middle to late of Edo era(1750~1860). Wonderful condition. Superb Ko-dansu with beautiful gold makie. "Ko-dansu" : A small chest with a drawer for keep incense. Overall ground has nashi-ji(gold makie)finish. It is decorated in skillful raised makie work. The decorated with the scenery of a sea, Mt.Fuji, an archway to a Shinto shrine, private house, pine tree, and dry net in the sun at the beach. There are ornamented on the surface of the chest. If a lovely door is opened, it has very brilliant design also on it. On the surface of the drawer, a field horsetail, Warabi, and a clover with wonderful lacquer work. In the reverse side of a door, it has a flower of a peony. The spring landscape of the peaceful village which spreads in the foot in Mt. Fuji. It is an excellent piece in which chirping of a bird can be heard at any moment. And consummate example of the skillfulness of workmanship. Measurements abouts : 12.5cm(4.92")Width, 17.2cm(6.77")Length, 14.7cm(5.78")Tall. Slack is not in the metal fittings on which it worked. |
