Date : Meiji period, 19th century. Very gorgeous and skillful gold makie work. It is decorated with Syo-chiku-bai(pine, bamboo and Japanese apricot)pattern and a chrysanthemum flower design on the body of the Tobacco tray with a small drawer . Inside has beautiful nashi-ji makie gold work. Lovely tools, Hi-ire(a small hearth for tobacco)and tobacco case are made from pure silver. Jyun-gin(100% pure silver)mark on the base of the each tool. Chiseled Japanese apricot design on the each silver tool. Wonderful handle is made from pure silver also. It comes with fitted wooden kiri-box.
