Date : Meiji period, 1891~1907.
"J.Ando" mark on the top of the Tomobako(original wooden kiri-box).
It is likely that this article is a high quality goods because the interior of the Tomobako has silk pad.
The small box colored in red which is called "Akasuke" (it was transparent red), and which is deeply transparent.
Akasuke is a color made the most beautiful also in Japanese cloisonne.
When Meiji Era, the blackish red resemble brightness of a highest-class ruby, it is the Owari cloisonne which was the most popular among Europeans and Americans.
It is ornamented with Japanese cherry on the surface and the ground has skillful work with bird and leaf design.
Color is a brilliant red.
The rim is silver made.
The interior of the cloisonne box has silk cloth with embroidered design of pine tree, crane, Japanese apricot, flower and a fan.
It comes with original wooden kiri-box,Tomobako.
Overall condition is in excellent except minor fray on the corner of the interior silk cloth.
Measurements about: 10cm(3.93") X 13.3cm(5.23") X 5.4cm(2.12")Tall.
