The greatest of all Wajima-nuri lacquer Chin-kin artists, Konishi Keisuke's work. It is based on wood, decorated in gold chin-kin makie on the roiro(shiny deep black)lacquer ground. He did first winning a contest in Nitten in Showa 41(1966). Three special selection, 20 winning a contest or more. One of the most expensive artists, and he is the most popular in a present-day Wajima-nuri lacquer artist. He has a prominent lacquer technique and good design qualities. The craftsman of truly wonderful Wajima-nuri leading artist in Japan. This Tanzaku box is ornamented with very beautiful gold makie called "chin-kin". The design is chrysanthemum. The center section of a box is a design of the beautiful ridgeline which is rose gently. Artist name on the base and reverse side of the lid of the Tomobako. It is a mint condition. It comes with original wooden kiri-box,Tomobako and cloth for keep. Measurements about : 39.8cm(15.66")X 10.2cm(4.01")X 5.2cm(2.04")Tall. |
