Detail of chrysanthemum varieties painted as the central theme on a baluster vase.
This vase is the typical type of Satsuma in to 19th century from the end of 18th century.
Simple, strong coloring are used in overall, it is thickly applied to the surface and typically have a heaped-up appearance.
Beautiful chrysanthemums enameled in iron red, white, gosu blue, turquoise blue and green rise from the milky white ground.
This fine large Satsuma vase is in excellent condition with no problems and bears on its base the gosu Satsuma province mon and elaborate gilt signature, Satsuma Un-sai.
Measurements about : 32.7cm(12.87")Body Diameter, 39.4cm(15.51")Tall.
