A very heavy 14K yellow gold tie bar set with a blue sapphire by Tiffany & Co. The classic design features engraved lines arranged in a sunburst pattern emanating from the gypsy-set sapphire at one end. The sapphire is graded as medium strong very slightly breenish blue (vslgB 5/5), very good cut and Type II eye-clean clarity. The back is marked by Tiffany & Co. and also “14K”. Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: excellent. Size: 2-1/16” x 3/8”. Weight: 7.9 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: .221 carat.
