A beautiful Napoleon III period 18K yellow gold locket, the front cover decorated with enamel and set with diamonds. The cover features a colorful enamel portrait of a lady wearing a formal gown. Her hair is entwined with flowers and a pink ostrich feather. Tiny rose-cut diamonds are nestled in the flowers. The portrait is enclosed in a frame of black enamel accented with intricate punchwork engraving. The back cover features an engraved reserve which was never monogrammed. The interior of the locket retains the original glass covers and frames. The engraved jump ring is original to the locket. Stamped with French 18K hallmarks.
