A fine Edwardian 9-piece dress set in 10K yellow and white gold and black mother-of-pearl. The set includes a pair of double-sided cufflinks, three shirt studs and four vest studs. The entire set can be worn with white tie. With a modern tuxedo, one could choose to wear either the smaller shirt studs or use the larger vest buttons as studs. Black mother-of-pearl is much less common than white, and it has a lovely, warm sheen. The white gold frames at the edge of each piece are handsomely decorated with bright-cut engraving. Each piece is hallmarked for Larter, who made them for Marshall, Field & Co. The set is presented in its original fitted Marshall Field box. Origin: America, ca. 1915. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: cufflinks and vest studs, 1/2” diameter; shirt studs, 9/32” diameter. Weight: 13.6 grams. |
