A very nice pair of vintage 14K yellow gold cufflinks. The front faces are shaped as pheasants, the eyes set with small rubies. The back faces are in the shape of shotgun shells. The faces are very finely engraved for a realistic feathery appearance. Fully three-dimensional figural cufflinks such as these, especially with a sporting theme, are quite difficult to find. The faces are joined by solid connectors marked “14K” and also with an unidentified maker’s mark. Origin: America, ca. 1920. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: pheasants, 15/16” x 1-1/16”; shells, 11/16” long. Weight: 17.5 grams. |
