A very fine pair of late Art Deco 18K yellow gold cufflinks in the "stirrup" style popularized by Cartier in the late 1940s. as is often the case, each end of the toggle mechanism is capped with cabochon blue sapphires, but this pair is most unusual in that the chain link sides are collet set with diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds. This is the only pair we've seen with this sort of design, and it really takes the cufflinks to a different level. The cufflinks are stamped with French "tete d'aigle" hallmarks for 18K. Origin: France, ca. 1948. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 1" 3/4". Weight: 13.5 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: sapphire, .64 carat; ruby, .17 carat; diamond, .15 carat; emerald, .12 carat. |
