A handsome pair of vintage mid-century cufflinks, the rectangular faces set with very fine quality rubies and diamonds. A cushion-cut ruby is set in one corner of each face and radiating outward from it are bead-set, brilliant round-cut diamonds. Though the design is somewhat simple, the quality and generosity of materials is very good. All the diamonds have extraordinarily fine color (estimated in the E range) and nine of the ten appear to have clarity of VVS1 (one is estimated at SI). The rubies have a good, silky texture and vibrant coloring. The toggle backs are marked “14K”. Origin: America, ca. 1955. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 13/16” x 21/32”. Weight: 20.0 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: diamond, .9 carat; ruby, .5 carat. |
