Very nice Louis XVI style 18K yellow gold cufflinks featuring discs of richly-colored Siberian lapis lazuli. The gold borders are designed as banded reeding--a popular Louis XVI motif that was revived in the Victorian era. The torpedo backs are decorated with engraved parallel lines. The lapis has nice disbursement of shiny pyrite and calcite inclusions typical of Siberian-type material. Each cufflink is fully hallmarked with French marks for 18K. Origin: France, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, a few tiny dings on the insides of the torpedo backs, not visible when being worn. Size: 9/16" diameter. Weight: 5.5 grams. |
