A wonderful vintage charm or pendant depicting a cocker spaniel by Beverly Hills jeweler William Ruser. The deeply three-dimensional spaniel is beautifully detailed. The eyes are set with medium cornflower blue round sapphires. Ruser, the favorite jeweler of Joan Crawford and Loretta Young, was famous for his poodle jewelry, but pieces featuring other breeds is very uncommon. The back of the pendant/charm is signed “Ruser” and is marked “14K”.

Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: excellent, a small ding on the bottom edge of the oval rim, sharp detailing on the dog. Size: 1-1/4” x 1-3/4” (excluding jump ring) x 1/2” deep. Weight: 19.9 grams.
