Japanese Cloisonne Vase w Flowers & Bulb Shaped
Description & Size: 9.14 x 9.14 cm (3.6" x 3.6") height & wide
Age: Meiji Period, Production: Handcrafted
This is an earlier Japanese cloisonné vase done in the early Meiji Period. It's beautifully designed with multiple flowers & large petals with black enamel background filled with intricate fine silver patterns. The fine silver patterns are created with semi-completed form from the mid the bottom of the vase. Each silver petal are design individually with multiple colors & fine silver circles. Top & bottom of the vase are done with bright brass. The vase does have what appeared to be manufactured baking flaws at the mid point at the body. The baking flaws cannot be felt, but can only be seen as a clearer shade of cloisonné color. Overall it's in excellent condition for its age.
