This is an vintage authentic 2 section kimono chest called Kamo Tansu that measures 68.5" high by 46.25" wide by 17.75" deep.Constructed of 100% Paulownia wood (Kirinoki) with a Mulberry (Kuwanoki) wood trim, its solid wood design will provide generations with functionality and beauty. It was made in the Niigata region of Japan and high quality Paulownia wood from the mountains of Aizu was used. It has a secret compartment built-in to the small drawer on the left. It is found by pulling the drawer completely out and finding a finger hole at the back which when pulled reveals another drawer. Originally used for the storage of kimono, this tansu works well to store linens, , towels, sweaters, blouses, shirts and all forms of clothes.
