Max Kuehne,American, NY, 1880-1968, Oil on Canvas in original frames made by artist, 24" by 30" signed lower right. This is one a pair of florals that are perfect examples of his still lives. The brush work and colors are unmatched with interesting background and with one of a kind frames made for each painting. Warren Davis, American/New York, 1865-1927. This perfect painting is oil on canvas in its original frame. Signed verso and titled "The Ripple", it is the last oil painted by Davis in 1926-27, from the estate of his widow. It is in perfect condition with only a slight wave in the canvas which would easily be corrected by keying out the canvas. The back of the painting is intact with original paper and gallery sticker.

George Hawley Hallowell 1872-1926, Arlington, Mass. This exceptional oil on canvas is 30"x30" in a 1920's 2" period gold leaf original Newton Macklin frame. It is in good condition, signed and dated on the lower right. His paintings sell for up to $10,000. He is listed in Fieldings, Mallett, and Who Was Who in American Art.

Joseph Mallord William Turner,(attributed to). This oil on canvas is 8 1/8" by 12 1/2" in a 3 1/2"carved guiltwood frame. It is in excellent condition and is signed and titled verso. This artist is considered a romantasist or a impressionist precursor. He is known for landscapes, lakes, castles, ruins, ships, coast lines and his paintings command up to $1,000,000.

Max Kuehne, New York, 1880-1968. This vivid impressionist painting is an exceptional example of Max Kuehne's work. It is 15 1/2" by 20" in a 3" original period American Impressionist gold leaf frame. It is in perfect condition and is signed lower right. It came directly out of the artist's estate. Born in Halle, Germany in 1880, Max Kuehne was a colorist who created cheerful landscapes that appear to be painted spontaneously and with freshness. He studied with William Merritt Chase and Kenneth Hayes at the Chase School in New York. In 1910, he embarked on a bicycling trip, traveling through England, France, Germany, Holland and Belgium. When he returned to New York City, he set up a studio in Greenwich Village and was a student of Robert Henri from whom he learned a dark impressionist style. He also became close with such avant garde artists as Guy Pene du Bois, William Glackens, William Zorach and Maurice and Charles Prendergast, which also influenced his dark work including street scenes and docks in New York City. However, three years in Spain, and painting trips to Gloucester lightened his palette as did time in Paris where he was much influenced by the Fauves, Nabis, and decorative painters. By 1912 he was producing work that would make him known as a "colourist of great distinction" by producing "paintings full of sparkling sunlight." He became a member of the artistic community later in Rockport, Massachusetts, with Gifford Beal, Leon Kroll, Paul Manship, Edward Hopper and Jonas Lie. Many of his finest paintings done later in his career are of the busy harbors and piers of Gloucester and Rockport. His work was widely exhibited including the National Academy of Design, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburghand hie work is in The Detroit Institute of Arts, The University of Michigan Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art. He is listed in all the major books and sells for up to $38,000.

George Loring Brown, Malden, Massachusetts, 1814-1889. This expensive landscape is a view of Sorrento including Mount Vesuvius in the background. This oil on canvas is 12" x 20" in a 3" 19th century frame. It is signed and titled verso very clearly and it is in very good condition with appropriate craqueleur. The edges have been reinforced but are still original. He lived in the U.S. and Europe and his more sought after paintings are those of southern Italy. He is in Fielding and Mallett, He was nick named Claude after Monet. His paintings sell for up $45,000.

Julian Walbridge Rix, Peacham, Vermont, 1850-1905. this oil on canvas is 14" by 17" in a beautiful 3 1/2" 19th C frame. It is in excellent condition with one older repair, and is signed lower right. He is listed in Who was Who in American Art and hie painting go up to $15,000.

John Costigan, RI and NY, 1888-1972. This painting is oil on canvasboard, 16" by 19 7/8" in a 5" impressionist frame. It is signed and inscribed with the artist's address on the reverse. It is in very good condition and is in a French Impressionist frame. Costigan has an extensive exhibition and award record at the Corcoran Gallery. His work is in the Museum of Modern Art, Cranbrook, Boston Museum among others. He is listed in Who was Who in American Art and will be the subject of an upcoming retrospective in New York.

John Costigan, American, 1888-1972. This painting is oil on canvasboard, 10" by 14" in a 2" frame. Overall dimensions are 14" by 18". It is signed lower left J.E.Costigan, N.A. It is inscribed verso with the Title, Artist's name and address and is dated 1942. Costigan's best paintings are the wooded scenes with heavy impasto and brilliant color. This is a gem with a lovely Mother and Child among the splashes of autumn colors. Costigan is listed in Who was Who in American Art and his paintings sell for up to $30,000.

Max Weber,American, 1881-1961. This Oil on Canvas is 18 1/8" by 22" in a gilt frame.It is signed lower left Max Weber. This is a great example of an American Early Modernist Work and was probably executed in the early 1940's. It may be an Adam & Eve reference or a reference to optimism and dispair. The colors are very intense and beautiful.It has been relined and has some old repairs but they are not visible to the naked eye. Weber is listed in Who was who in American Art and his paintings sell for up to $1,650,000.

Clarence Hinkle, American, Santa Barbara, CA, 1880-1960, oil on board, 16" X 20", signed on lower right, in a modern American Impressionist frame ( overall 25.5" by 30.5". This atmospheric impressionist painting conveys his interest in City and Landscapes. It is beautifully executed in fluid brush strokes in lovely pastel colors and is probably a scene in San Francisco Cincinnatti or perhaps Philadelphia,. This artist studied in California and Paris, has exhibited in Calif and the Corcoran, work in Museum in Calif and Vermont, teacher and member of art org. Lauber, Joseph, 1855-1948, New York. This oil on board is an impressionist style painting of a Woman in a flower Garden with Fruit Trees. It is 5" by 7" in a 2" period frame There is a Salgamundi Club label on the back. Lauber worked for Tiffany Studios and was known for his stained glass windows. He is listed in Who was Who in American Art, Fieldings, Mallett and was a student of Karl Muller, Chase, Shirlaw and LaFarge.

John Ulbricht, Cuba, Illinois, and presently living in Majorca, Spain, 1913-, He is known for figural nude drawings/paintings and is listed in Who was Who in American Art. He has a extensive gallery and exhibition record including The National Portrait Gallery.

Frederick Frary Fursman, Chicago, Illinois, 1874-1943. This American Impressionist Painting is a lovely subject matter with children in a park. It has beautiful shadows and lovely brushwork. It is an oil on canvas 15" by 18" in a very good 3" newer gold leaf frame. Provenance: Private MidWest Collection, Bought from Timothy Keene estate sale of Frederick Fursman held in Milwaukee. Guaranteed by Frederick Furman Estate. Has estate number 59 and Fursman Monogram Verso. There is some very minor craquelure but not disturbing to the painting.

Etienne Ret, 1900-?, Hollywood, CA. This lovely portrait in pinks and earth tones is 14" by 20" in a period gilt and white washed 2" frame (overall dimensions 18" by 14"). It is signed lower right Etienne. On the back is written in pencil "Loaned by Mrs Gladys Lehman Etienne Ret".
