| Alfred Pollentine, British, 1851-90. He worked in London from 1861-1880 where he showed Venice Scenes. This lovely view of Venice from the water is typical of Pollentine's work. It is oil on canvas and signed indistinctly lower right.It is 16" by 26" in a 19th C frame with overall dimensions of 22.5" by 32.5". Condition is fair with some wrinkling of the the canvas. It has not been lined and has no old repairs. He is known for scenes of Venice and Switzerland and has a long listing in Benezit. | ||
