Francois Charles Cachoud, French, 1866-1943. This gorgeous, lush night painting is Cachoud at his best. It is 25.5" by 32" in a stunning 19th C Gold leaf frame, with framed dimensions of about 35.5" by 42". It is fresh from an estate and is in good condition but needs a light cleaning and some touch up on the frame. A student of the great Gustave Moreau and Robert Delauny, he competed in the Salon de Paris, 1892 through the 1940's. He also obtained a gold medal at l'Exposition Universelle in Paris. He was the recipient of the Legion d'Honneur in 1910.
