|We are proud to offer a MONUMENTAL COPPER-CLAD POTTERY VASE (11.5 INCHES TALL), by Clewell. The Patina ranges from Green to Blue with the top of vase being a dark Copper color. The Vase is a, is a whopping, 11.5" tall and 5"+ wide (at widest). Mouth of Vase is 2.5 inches. Bottom is 4.5 inches. The vase is in Original and Excellent Condition. This size of Clewell Copper-Clad Vase is SCARCE and RARE. The Patina is very wonderful and almost 3 Dimensional (3D)., it is soo "THICK". Charles Walter Clewell, of Canto, Ohio, began experimenting with Copper, Brass, Bronze and Silver in 1899. The Patina, like on this Vase, was a "SECRET", that "DIED", with him. This Patina was "INVENTED" by him in about 1923. He apparently purchased Blank Pottery Vases from several Ohio Pottery's. He might have used some type of electroplating and/or chemicals to produce his "Old-Penny" Patina, on these once blank vases. The Patina on this Monumental Clewell Vase is very desirable, the vase is probably worth $10,000, in a Gallery!! This Pottery just "SINGS".|
