We are very proud to offer a fantastic, early 19th to 20th C. antique Jade 3 piece table screen set, that is covered with hand-carved tiny (adorable!) hardstone carvings. Some carving are from coral. The hardstones are from carnelian, jade, lapis, as well as coral. Many of the carving are of unknown gemstones. The set is in original and excellent condition with old repair to large pi. The large center jade pi is about 13.5 inches in diameter. It sits in a carved wood stand that is 12.5 high (at middle) and is 14.5 inches wide. That makes the entire large middle screen about 26 inches high by 14.5 inches wide. The round jade pi has evidence of having been broken & skillfully repaired a long time ago. The crack does not show from front, as hardstone carvings were set along line of repair. You have to look hard to notice it on the front. It is very beautiful. There are only minor losses of hardstones. We were told when we bought it 40 years ago in San Francisco, CA. that carvings were stuck on with bees-wax. The carvings of 3 tiny squirrels and two birds (eagle?) are truly amazingly well done. The stand really shows its age with antique hand-made screws-see photo. The stand has minor losses to one side with top-side of galley missing. The two small oval jade screens are 8.5 inches in diameter lengthwise. They seem to be in very good condition with minor loss of coral to body of one butterfly. Their wooden stands are about 6 inches by 6.5 inches. They have little wooden pegs in bottom holding then together. This entire set is rare and scarce and very impressive . It is fabulous!.
