We are very proud to offer an amazing vintage/antique carved and pierced green jadeite (jade) bead necklace, 15.5 inches end-to-end. There are 30 beads that range from 10.91 mm to 12.78 mm in diameter and weigh 65 grams. Most are about 12 mm. Each bead is carved with six Buddha heads around the top. This is simply amazing. I have not seen one like this in over 30 years of looking at carved jade beads. Each bead has between 16 and 20 “holes”, carved or drilled throughout the beads. These holes seem quite “deep”. The beads are very shiny, as is consistent with jadeite. They are very cold to the touch. They are a mottled green and are rather translucent. These beads might have been part of a mala or even a Chinese Court necklace at one time. The Buddha heads are the most unusual and unique feature of this very beautiful jadeite necklace. The jadeite is so very pretty. Carved and pierced jadeite beads are few and far between. Then these have the amazing Buddha heads, as well as lots of “holes”. Remember the more holes the better. Here is an opportunity to have one of the rarest of all carved and pierced jadeite (jade) necklaces, with Buddha heads to boot.
