Invoking the feeling of an ascetic sage who has withdrawn from the world to the tea house to drink tea, this beautiful bronze hut koro or incense censor was used for the tea ceremony in the Taisho Period, C.1920. Most of these kind of bronzes these days are fakes; this one is the real McCoy. Wonderful bronze work on the roof ridge and the roof itself. Aka Do or red bronze was used and it creates a lovely patina on the hut walls. Comes with keyaki (zelkova ) wood stand. Hut is 5" tal and 4 " wide. Ask for shipping quote.
