Very elegant bronze Showa Period c.1950 with electic bronze tube for lighting. The oval lantern on tripod legs with beautiful bronze panels each with intricately swirling bronze vine lattices is a delight. One door has a latch and hinge and swings open. Once lined with rice paper and can be done so again on request. At the top is a handle for hanging if desired and a bronze tube for electrical wire and bulb.

Important Edo Period bronze flower vase with dragon circling the vase with another dragon and buddhist clouds in relief. Absolutely stunning. Comes in the original 'kiri' paulownia box. Inscription on box reads: "Kara Kane Un Ryu Tsutsu Hana Ike" meaning bronze vase with clouds and dragon flower vase. Also with the name of the owner. Gorgeous patina and in excellent condition. Stylish and very art deco Showa Period C.1930 bronze hanging lamp. The top has undulating waves in the cast and is attached to the body by rings. The the top lip of the main body has holes at intervals and the main body has almost what looks like kanji japanese characters with rice paper covering. Very rare bronze sheathed 'kanban' shop sign for the 'SHIKI SHIMA' brand sake made by the Ito Sake Brewery. Important, rare bronze plated Meiji Period C.1885 'zeni-bako' money box that was kept before the shrine altar to accept offerings. Usually they are made of keyaki wood but this wood money box is covered in bronze with thick bronze nails. The front has a crest and two japanese characters in relief "HO" and "NO" meaning offerings from the heart. The back has a drawer at the bottom to remove the money. We put a thick piece of glass of the slats on top to make a stunning coffee table. (glass easily removed). H:25" x W:39". Ask for shipping quote from our california warehouse.
