The essence of Oribe pottery can be seen in this late Edo Period C.1860 brazier used for heating the old houses. The brown feldspar markings along with the trademark Oribe olive green glazes on a white hagi base truly epitomize a perfect pottery piece. A kiln scars which occured in the firing (or maybe they are chips) on the rim (see pictures) but they are so old they definitely are 'aji' or character. A museum piece. H: about 16"; W: about 14". ask for shipping quote.
